Discouragement, Fear and Anger – The Weapons of the Enemy

job quote

It seems lately within the last couple of months, the Devil has it out for my Friends and Family, including my pets. What has he done? When he’s not messing with us in the spirit, he is plotting and putting things in motion in other areas of our lives, mainly our livelihood, friends and family and our day to day dealings and interactions. It seems like a page out of the a children’s book called “A Series of Unfortunate Events” by the Lemony Snicket.  My first reaction to what’s happened was to lash out in anger or just quit. I have to confess I don’t handle a lot of crisis well and my mouth is quick to curse and say why me. But The Lord Jesus reminded me through his Word that the Devil has been at this at the beginning,  and he reminded me of his servant Job.  As a child of God, Jesus is talking about you, boasting as he did with Job, “Have you considered my servant Job?” (Job 1:8). When you have accepted Jesus in your heart, proclaimed and believed him your Lord and Savior, he is boasting how glad you have joined the family of God.  With that, a hedge has been placed between you and the Devil and he cannot touch you without permission.  Secondly, in all that happens to you , you are never alone. God is With You! He has given you all the tools you need to overpower the prince of this World, The Devil, Satan.

Some Key points to remember:

  1. God is with you. He resides in you and you in him. Jesus said these very words –

    John 15:4-7New International Version (NIV)

Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

  2. Take Authority in Jesus’s name. Seal the deal with King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

    John 14:13King James Version (KJV)

13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

  3. There is nothing to fear. Jesus has already overcome the world.

2 Timothy 1:7:13)King James Version (KJV)

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
