Hold Your Breath for a Week! – Starving and deprived of God’s Word!

I was listening this morning after listening to 1 Peter on my you version Bible app, then I saw on youtube Pastor Morris’s sermon on “Staying Alive”. He illustrated greatly how needed is The Word of God during these trying times. He stated out the following scriptures from 2 Timothy 3:16New International Version (NIV)

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

He put out the question How long can you Hold your Breath. Why do a lot of us only inhale and breathe God’s word once a week. How did we get to this place where we hardly meditate on God’s word night and day?

As an instructor in Martial Arts, (Taekwondo) specifically, I train as much as I can making time through my work schedule, church schedule, teaching schedule so that I can continue to instruct in top condition. I have visited schools where the instructor no longer participates and just barks orders. Half of them no longer train. How can they still be effective?

In as much the same fashion why do a lot of us feel equipped and content to only go and have your fill of God’s Word once a week (usually Sundays)  and feel they can overcome the trials that the enemy, Satan throws at them with fiery arrows? Why aren’t more hungry, and starving for the word. Scriptures are God Breathed and essential to our spirit life. Why do we continue to Hold our breath, choking and passed out waiting to have a jolt on sundays as they try to resuscitate us on Sundays? We are suffering for our lack of knowledge, God’s Breath of Life.

I urge, encourage my brothers and sisters to continue to grow by reading, listening and hearing the Word of God.

Thank You and God Bless,

Melvin Cadlaon
